The Young people of Ferguson Missouri should be celebrated for taking a stand for justice in their community. Unlike the Staten Island NYC death of Eric Garner which was ruled a homicide and had video tape to prove that indeed a murder did occur by the hands of NYC Police At this late date there has been no arrests made and a political shuffle has emerged between Al Sharpton and the Mayor and the police Dept. In this case the people of the community rose up without Al Sharpton’s Loud cry of “ No Justice, No Peace “ to produce events that made the world take a closer look at our “ Free nation “ The images were true and uncensored and displayed the truth about how some law enforcement agents views their role in keeping this” Great Society” intact . Many were shocked by the sheer force of the police against the citizens. The plain truth is that the rule of law does not apply when it comes to African American men .Some of us would like believe that our economic status, educational achievements Career status, Celebrity status or our skin shade ( Light Vs Dark ) will help us escape from what is an sickness in our society .The youth of Ferguson said basically what Eric Gardner said in his last words …. ….Not today! Their actions though some may not condone the violence. Achieved what many protests for Trayvon , Martin and the endless list of dead Black men young and old has yet to produce A true dialogue regarding the attitudes of those people who have sworn to protect and serve its citizens. This Dialogue is not just coming from members of the African American community but from the World Community . I hope that this is a signal that this is a new chapter in America,,, Not today ,no more . The murdering of innocent African American Men …citizens of this nation must stop . All Americans must stop turning our heads and trying to “fit in “ so we can get that next promotion , Gig, Partnership , raise or whatever and make a stand with the Youth who have their very lives at stake for it is they who are being murdered and their blood running in the streets . White or Black it’s our Country . Thanks to my Friend Arnold Strickland for his post regarding his hometown
