The Zambian government plans to ban importation of second hand motor vehicles into Zambia due to congestion on roads and lack of good road network. the importation of second hand motor vehicles has created jobs, created revenue for the government and improved quality of life in Zambia. to make matters worse 90% of the public transport vehicles are second hand vehicles, surely will the transportation industry survive? they are sayin second hand vehicles are usually 10yrs old wen they come into zambia and this causes a lot of road traffic accidents as evidenced by an increase in motor vehicles accidents in recent times. they are also saying they increase polution. surely is zambia ready for such luxuly, being a developing country?
