The adhaan being played on radio stations should be monitored - TopicsExpress

The adhaan being played on radio stations should be monitored closely else it opens the door to misguidance. All perfect praise and adorations be to Allaah; We beseech His peace and blessings upon Noble Prophet(sollaLlaahu alayhi wasallam). Many of our bretheren have been doing a wonderful job(JazaahumuLlaahu khayr) in bringing the attention of their fellow muslims to the times of the daily solaawaat. And this is in contrast with Allaahs statement in Suuratu Nnisaa that: Indeed the prayer prescribed upon the muslims is but with fixed times. Based on this verse I believe; some of our well endonwed muslims sponsor the playing of the adhaan for each of the daily solaawaat on the radio network so as to keep the muslims abreast with their solaawaat at their respective working places. However; there is a great matter they need to be attentive to and this is regarding the times in which the radio services were paid to play the call to prayer. As we have seen that many of the radio stations sometimes call the adhaan when the solaat is not due thereby leading so many muslims astray. This was even worst during the fasting period of ramadoon as some muslims use this adhaan played on the radio services to break their fasts. This then implies that they ate when the sun has not set if the adhaan was played out unduely and therefore means that these muslims have not fasted for that day! We should therefore becareful! Knowing fully well that many of the radio station workers are kuffaar and they detest that the adhaan should be called if not for the money involved. Consequently; I want to suggest the following which should be given great attention while venturing into this good rewarding act: 1. The radio workers should be informed that our daily prayers are based on the weather changes and will therefore require that they oftenly change the times in which the adhaan are been played out. 2. The adhaan to be played out must be correct in both the pronunciation of the arabic letters and the content of the adhaan itself. This is necessary so that mistakes like the following will be avoided: A. Hayya alal ssolaat. This is wrong! It should be Hayya alaa ssolaat(Hasten towards solaat). (As-ssodu is from the letters of Shamsiyya(Sun letters)). B. Hayya alal fallaah. This is wrong as it means: Hasten towards the farmer; as Al-Fallaah means means Farmer. What is correct is: Hayya alal falaah(Hasten towards success). 3. A. The adhaan to be played out should not contain the dua recommeded in the sunan(which is said after the completion of the adhaan). As saying the dua out immediately after the adhaan implies that it is part of the adhaan and this is wrong. Even if it is desired to be taught to the public; then it should be taught seperately!. B. Statements like: Eyin baba! Eyin mama! Ewa kirun!(All you fathers and mothers; come and pray!) And similar ones should be avoided after the completion of the adhaan. We should please however NOTE that if all these things mentioned above cannot be ensured. Then it is best that we do not play the adhaan on radio stations as its evil has become more apparent and overwhelming than the good it contains. This is necessary so as not to misguide the ummah. And Allaah is the granter of success.
