The aging process is complex involving millions of small biochemical reactions in the body that make augmentation of the natural cellular death/ decay process exceedingly impossible to alter without setting off dangerous cellular cascades that lead to adverse events. The easiest and safest way to slow this process is through inhibition of Lipofuscin build up, and increasing various growth factors but with risk. By inhibiting cellular death or boosting cellular growth the risk of cancerous tissue growth exceeds the reward of slowing cellular death. If programmed cell death is stopped deadly cancerous tissue will grow unchecked. This makes me wonder if it is impossible to increase cellular survival without such risks.
