The allegation made about the candidates using prefixes, such as ‘AAA’, ‘A.A.’, to their names was much to the chagrin of AISA, when the alleged candidates got their nominations clear for the upcoming election of DUSU. The question is, even after knowing that using sch prefixes is an act of violating Article 14 of the constitution, why did the Election commission of DU alloted them ballot numbers? Such candidates get “unfair advantage” in the elections as their names appear on the top of the list of the candidates. This results in elections being conducted in an unfair, arbitrary and discriminatory manner contrary to the mandate of Article 14 of the Constitution of India. Its time to say NO to this long time trend of using prefixes . VOTE for a change, vote on merits. #AnewDUispossible !
