The amount of times we hear people call vegans extremists is staggering. Its absolutely insane. How could it ever be extreme to want to protect all animals, rather than just some of them? How could it ever be extreme to choose not to fund a system of unnecessary torture and slaughter? How could it ever be extreme to feel the same emotional response to a calf being imprisoned and then killed as anyone else would to a puppy enduring the same treatment? In the link below, you will see a vegan animal rights activist crying on television as she relives the horror of bearing witness to the needless suffering of animals who never did anything to warrant such cruelty. So to those people who would label us as extreme - hear her words and witness her pour out her heart, pleading with the world to do one very simple thing: end the exploitation, violence and cruelty - and then tell me that were the extremists you think we are. I was at the Debach and Adom Adom slaughterhouses, both places. I saw them going in. I accompanied calves as they were taken off the boats at Eilat port, and saw them crying. And heard them.
