The animal that the cat brought in was a live Vole. A welcome change of pace from snakes and the Deer Mice we usually get as Voles have no interest in being inside and dont carry diseases typically, but we still had to get it out. After a 10 hour standoff, it finally ended with Jinn drawing the vole out, me engulfing my hand in a plastic bag, being quick enough to grab it by hand and fling it out the door. I had no intention of killing it, but this little bastard could not be reasoned with, and that was its best chance of survival. Im not sure what the social consensus for picking up a live rodent and throwing it outside is, but I was kinda out of options all the same.
