The are 3 ways to effectively reduce the calorie density of a meal.. 1) reduce fat 2) Add fruits/veggies 3) add water. Reducing fat decreased total calories 15%, adding fruits/veggies decreased total calories 11.5% & adding water decreased total calories 8.5%. This is why a lower fat, whole food, plant based diet, with low/no SOS, is so effective in managing weight and optimizing nutrition.
