The army ensured Mubarak left and ensured the rest of the Mubarak elites remained in power The army was in contact with the US during the revolution and even afterwards The army negotiated with the protestors to enter govt via elections, subject to conditionssuch as dumping Islam at the door, having no real power as all important ministries would be out of bounds The army updated the constitution to limit their power before elections The army banned groups from standing who claimed they would implement sharia The army ran the foreign affairs and with its secular friends in the media, judiciary and bureaucracy to ensure little changes The army signalled to the protestors to carry on giving them the green light to protest and undermine Morsi The army were the ones to remove him And it was the army that are in receipt of two billion dollars from the US! I think the army generals have a lot to answer for!
