The arrogance & lawlessness of this administration rivals, if not surpasses that of the Bush administration. In the broader context of the last 2 presidents, the executive branch has asserted & consolidated unprecedented power, shielded from public scrutiny & exercised with impunity. The mantra of national security is repeatedly invoked to preclude transparent scrutiny of these broad assertions of executive power. The legislative branch, here Congress, has failed miserably to exercise meaningful oversight or accountability. Time to defend the agencies responsible. Or elect a Congress with balls.
