The article concludes…If built, Northern Gateway would ship 525,000 barrels per day of diluted oilsands crude from the Edmonton area to Kitimat, B.C., where the oil would be loaded onto tankers and shipped to Asia. Lets do the math, at 525,000 barrel/day x 365 day/year x $100/barrel = $19,162,500,000 per year. Thats $19.2 billion per year in estimates sales. The Enbridge Northern Gateway Project Joint Review Panel has recommended the federal government approve the project budget to be built at $6.5 billion. In three year the project would be paid off. That same Review Panel has offered up 10% – the share of the project ownership offered to First Nations and Métis - which, hypothetically, would equate to $1.92 billion per year in potential revenue -- like thats really going to happen! One cannot help to think when the oil has run dry the necessary infrastructure will be in place to load fresh water into tankers and ship to Asia and south of the 49th! Thats a heck of a deal for the Asian market when you consider their currency out weighs ours at 5:1...
