"The artificial boundaries of the Middle East nations, drawn up - TopicsExpress

"The artificial boundaries of the Middle East nations, drawn up after WWI, simply do not work. None of the countries drawn up were ever nation states. There had never existed a Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, etc. Wilton Wynn’s Lebanese wife Leila complained that the hodge-podge of national entities created had no other purpose than to favor the exploitation of Arab peoples by the British and French colonial powers. The international community should encourage Arab unity, even if the Arabs are themselves the greatest obstacle to unity. Tacitus was right: “ODIA PROXIMORUM ACERISSIMA. Just as the Romans unified the entire Mediterranean world, the Turks are perhaps the contemporary counterpart for the reunification of the Arab world. Call in the Outsider when the Insiders can’t get their act together. Because Jesus loved his people, he never criticized Roman rule because it was better than any government his fellow countrymen could provide for themselves. He wanted what was best for his beloved people. In fact, Jesus praised the faith of the Roman centurion as superior to anything he encountered among his own. This point is missed by that Muslim idiot who has written the recent bestseller about Jesus’ being a radical nationalist revolutionary championing the Jewish resistance to Roman rule. All the Romans we encounter in the gospels come off far better than Jesus’ fellow countrymen. The Romans Pilate and his wife tried in vain to save Jesus from his murderous fellow countrymen. The Pax Romana with the flourishing of civilization could never have been achieved by his bickering paesani! He came to his own and they preferred Barabbas. As Blanche Dubois said in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, “I’ve always found kindness at the hands of strangers.” The same idea applies to the Arabs: they found peace and harmony under Ottoman Turks that they have been unable to achieve for themselves."
