The baby goat who was born on Monday figured out how to get out of the pen today. The problem is mom can not get out. She put her head through the fence and called and called to the baby to come back. When the baby got hungry it tried to come back, but it could not figure out how to get back in the pen. Mom never stopped calling but she could not get the baby back to the fold. After watching this unfold, I opened the gate and steered the baby back to safety. A child who thought it looked better on the other side, a parent who would not give up, no way to return on its own, and a friend who steered them to safety. Just an observation from my side of the barnyard.
