The band I was given was the Micheal Franti & Spearhead Do I like them ? They rock. But more then that they rock in that super positive, super energenic way that just makes the sun shine brighter. I was introduced to the big love of Franti via my brothers Donny and Steven. My bros always had an ear to the ground of underground hip hop, this is ironic given that we all come from a small NFLD town not known for its hip hop scene. We were all living together in a house in Antigonish and what played on the loudest stereo was ultimatly listened to by all within its range. After hearing my fair share of hard hip hop via the boys the postive, catchy beats of Franti were super refreshing. Franti and Spearhead actually made it to Evovle and I passed on the chance to go see them live in my own backyard. Well let me tell you it was a decesion I regret to this day. I heard the mp3 of the concert after the fact and it was so good it was spiritual. I commited after that to take any chance to see Franti. Have I seen them? Turns out the gods were pleased with my penance and I got the chance to see him in Northampton, Masc. at The Calvin, a super small venue, after I got back from Australia. The concert was out of this world, he was performing out among the crowd, he had the entire stage filled with fans for the last songs and you could just tell the whole crew were super special human beings. Favorite Song? Oh My God Like and I will give you a band. Thanks Tone Martin for asking me to to write this up.
