The banyan tree compares itself with the banana tree, and gets - TopicsExpress

The banyan tree compares itself with the banana tree, and gets depressed; it does not realize it is a different species. The banyan tree in the cremation ground compares itself with the banyan tree in the temple complex and gets depressed; it does not realize every seed of the same species grows in different places and so has access to different soil/nutrients/water/sunlight/care. Through comparison we create role models, and strive to be someone else. Thus we ignite envy and misery. Winners call it competitive spirit. Losers call it sporting spirit or unfair practices. Only in the human world are plants better/worse, higher/lower, or even equal. In nature, nothing is compared; all things are unique, and valid. And all things eat, and get eaten.
