The “barbaric” killing of the lady teacher in Rayagada - TopicsExpress

The “barbaric” killing of the lady teacher in Rayagada district, has brought to fore the infighting within the ruling BJD. “I suspect some of my party people are trying to defame me. I am ready to face any inquiry,” BJD MP from Koraput Jayaram Pangi told reporters while rejecting the allegation made by the family members of Itishree Pradhan, the lady teacher of Tikiri UP school. The lady teacher was burnt to death allegedly for not withdrawing the molestation case against suspended school SI Trinath Dandsena. Though the lady teacher before death has said that the person who poured kerosene and set her on fire was someone other than Dandsena, family members of the deceased lady teacher pointed accusing finger towards Jayaram Pangi. Pangi, a BJD veteran in the locality, however, claimed that he was in no way connected with the case. The BJD MP, though claimed that some of his party men were trying to defame him by dragging his name in the matter, he did not reveal names of the BJD leader. Whatever the case may be, the difference and infighting in the BJD is now exposed. People within the party do not like Pangi and try to defame it. Meanwhile the Crime Branch of police has launched a manhunt to nab the miscreant who set a female teacher on fire for not withdrawing the molestation case against a suspended sub-inspector (SI) of schools in Odishas Rayagada district. The Crime Branch team has been searching the man who poured kerosene on the teacher before setting her afire on October 27 night. The teacher succumbed to burn injury last week. Capture of the miscreant will provide major clue to unearth truth behind the teachers killing, a senior CB official said.
