The bears are back..... Its a bit cray cray when your neighbor boy (friend of my 14 year old son) leaves for the night. Im sitting on my couch snuggling with my youngest when seconds later I hear him rushing nervously back in, threw my front door. I could hear that frightful (& now familiar) sound you imagine in a nightmare where you cant open a door fast enough, or your running in one place. I look up at him & said Bear??? Poor teen was SHOCKED and unable to utter a word for a moment...his life flashing before his eyes....just staring at me frozen. I KNEW what he saw!!! A black bear was standing right in my driveway, right in front of my garage. We waited but the next familiar sound in my cul-de-sac at night is pots banging..... I escorted this awesome kid home banging a pot with a wooden spoon...sort of comical and sort of not, but its my neighborhood non-the-less. Just 2 nights ago a 68 year old lady was attacked by a bear at the back of my neighborhood where more houses are under development. This was the 3rd bear attack in my area in 12 months. Apparently trash left by the construction crew in the dumpsters or thrown around the construction site is what was attracting the Bears in that area. Bears will smell left out trash/food for up to 10 miles. At least we hade a couple weeks of peace without bears lurking around our homes... #BearsInHeathrow
