The beautiful, old columns on Calle Grande took a bad hit yesterday when someone ran their car into the southwest main column. We heard the sirens and saw the police and ambulance racing to the scene. We dont know the condition of the driver, but the column took a direct hit. The city has closed Calle Grande around the site and made it difficult for golfers to get to The Riv, but it can be done....just takes 2 minutes longer. Easiest access is from Nova Road on Golf Ave. We sure hope the beautiful structure can be repaired.
