The beauty of teaching Kindergarten is that you can come to work having the worst day in the world and be guaranteed that one of the kids are going to do or say something that will have you in stitches, thereby altering your outlook on the day. Today was a prime example. While on recess duty one of my colleagues was approached by a Kindergartner who told her that one of the little Kindergarten boys had been hit in the nose. My colleague responded by telling the young lady to send the little boy over to her so she could check on him. The little boy came over and the teacher asked, “Who hit you in the nose?” to which the little boy responded, “I didn’t get hit in the nose.” Confused, the teacher said, “Well I was told you had gotten hit in the nose.” The little boy looked at her and loudly responded, “I didn’t get hit in the nose! I got hit in the ___!” Being the gentleman that I am, I chose not to insert the final word. I can tell you that the final word does rhyme with, “guts.” Out of the mouths of babes…
