The beginning is the best part. Where hope and ambition and destiny align. Where a dream is a landscape and an idea is a canvas. Where doubt and hesitation and fear exist only as faint remnants of a past that now feels long forgotten. This day was inevitable. I knew it was upon me. But I was scared. The resonating echoes of the proverbial knocks of opportunity felt so near to rejection, disrespect, humiliation. I was so blinded by my own self-created sense of control that I neglected to remember, even though I tend to remember everything, that I actually, totally, definitively have no control at all. Over anything. Ever. So I continue to wait. I continue to live, breathe, bleed for the happiness of everyone else. Living the life of the servant, praying the end result really is that place of eternal, celestial perfection written about in the great books of antiquity. Taught to me by my father since I was a babe with my entire existence awaiting discovery. Which encircles me back to the beginning. The beginning of beginnings, really. And a decision. A choice. An opportunity. A challenge. The answer is Yes. It will always be Yes. Because this is the best part.
