The beliefs that a person hold true about themselves are often their biggest enemy. Beliefs can either be limiting beliefs, or empowering beliefs. Some examples of limiting beliefs are: Im a fat person, or Im not an athlete and never will be, or I cant control my appetite. To change these limiting beliefs into empowering beliefs. Say something like: I have extra fat, but Im working to get rid of it, food has been my weakness in the past, but through determination, and hard work, food will be my strength.
