The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express. -Francis Bacon I have a large book of quotes, and several years ago I dog-eared a few pages that contained a few that I must have liked. While packing last week, I pulled the book off of the shelf and opened to one of the dog-eared pages. I read a few, which included the above quote, and packed the book in a box without giving it any more thought. My youngest daughter, Rosie Reed had her homecoming dance this evening. Being her extremely proud mama, I snapped several pictures even though she was ready for me to stop after just one. As I sat looking through the pictures this evening, I kept thinking about that quote and how much it applied to the pictures I had taken. Rosie is a pretty girl, but her truest beauty can never be captured in a picture. It can be seen through her love of God. It can be heard when she laughs. It can be felt when she tells her dad and I that she loves us. Her truest beauty is witnessed by the depth of her faith in others, even though her life hasnt always been easy. It is her determination to rise above a horrible, life altering disease and refusing to let it define her. It is her silliness. It is her sassy-ness. It is the way she finds the silver lining when its easier to see the storm clouds. These are the beautiful things that a picture could never capture. These are the most beautiful things about our wonderful daughter! We love you Rosie and you make us proud. :-)
