The best reason that I know NOT to shoot deer in the head. This buck survived a horrible wound to the head. The bone mended and its amazing that he recovered but the bullet left that gaping hole in front of the eyes and across the pallet as well as blew a few teeth away. There were bullet lead fragments in the bone. If you are someone that doesnt really care about causing an animal undue suffering then this probably wont matter to you but most of us want to avoid leaving a deer to a lingering death or long and painful recovery. Please dont take head shots on deer.
