The best training program for a runner, volleyballplayer, skier, basketballplayer, track & field athlete, (insert any sport)? A question that is asked constantly, but I have a different view on this topic: I write programs taking into account all the variables, including the sport that the athlete competes in, but I dont write generic programs for a specific sport. There is no such thing as a best program for sport X. I also dont believe that there are certain averages (who aims for averages anyway?) an athlete should be able to perform in their sport, like squatting X time their bodyweight. Look at the scoreboard as your test and do what this indivual athlete needs to succeed.
