The biggest problem of this world is not the poverty of Africa, - TopicsExpress

The biggest problem of this world is not the poverty of Africa, neither the terror that plagues us. It is not Ebola or HIV; it is not the drug cartels of the Mexico. It is not the demons who rule as politician or the preachers who deliberately distort religious truths. The biggest problem of the world is the absence of absoluteness. The line between what is wrong or right is so thin that it practically does not exist hence it cannot be seen. The world is in the era of ‘It depends’. As people walking the face of the earth, there is no one thing we all consider right or we consider wrong. ‘’Did he steal? It depends on the circumstances’’. ‘’Did she just kill someone? Truly my friend, it depends’’ ‘’My boss just lied. No I did not… it depends on how you look at it.’’ This is what we sociologists like relativity of crime. For me while in some respect it is a strength; it also present itself as the biggest problem facing our modern world. But it is a free and mundane world and there are absolutely no absolutes. You do as you wish as long as it suites your ‘It depends’. Yet in all the riches and splendor of the world, present and yet to come, its knowledge and its technological feats, I choose to cling to an old rugged cross. It may not appear fascinating but I choose to cling. It may not make sense to everybody but I will cling. The old rugged cross appears to be fast becoming a shame and a reproach to cling, but gladly, I choose to cling and to bear. Good morning folks. God bless your hustle this week.
