The birth of a person spiritually is an experience beyond description. The Apostle Paul perhaps comes closest when he speaks of the believer as a “new creation.” “Behold,” he says, “all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). As with a natural birth, the period immediately following a spiritual birth can be a time of great risk. We don’t adapt instantly to our new environment. The change to a life in Christ takes time, patience and special care.
