The blogs are trashing R Kelly after Nina Chantele asked him about his child. Yes, we know Kelly is a pedophile, and he is in no position to cast judgment on anyone. But did I miss something in this interview? What did Kelly say that was wrong? Kelly said, You dont wanna really open it up with saying my daughters becoming my son. I wouldnt want anyone opening a conversation like that about my trans-son either. Kelly then said, folks shouldnt believe the blogs. Of course, Kelly could have added something like, Whatever my child decides is fine with me. But instead, he tried to shift the conversation to address the gossip culture of the media that pretends to know all the details of celebrities lives. Could that have been Kelly’s way of saying, Its a family matter! Celebrities arent obligated to talk about their children to you, the media. Nina shouldn’t have raised the question in the way she did. It was a tacky hustle for ratings. She had no deep concern for the well-being of Kellys child. We should be going after her, not Kelly; or perhaps, Im missing a perspective.
