The board came back just before 8 and decided that they will amend the current dress code policy. Board say each parent or guardian is responsible for the hygiene of their student. Administration reserves the right to contact the parent or guardian regarding any personal hygiene issues that could cause an issue with health or safety of the students. Board says they’ve gotten phone calls all over the nation about hairstyles. Board say this policy has been in play for more than 14 years – and for this to become an issue is almost ridiculous. School opened in 2000 and has received numerous awards. “It was never our intent to cause any harm to Tiana or her family by our actions. If harm did occur – we apologize.” – Kenneth James – Board Chairman The school will also be reviewing all of its other policies to see if any other changes need to be made.
