The camera and new tripod will be back in action (along with me) tomorrow at Dunfermline. Due to the scheduling of the Grade 2 contest I missed Craigmount Caledonias excellent medley in the Grade 3 event at Dunbar , and Im really looking forward to hearing it in person. Of course, the marquee event at Dunfermline is the three-way Grade 1 battle between Shotts, Scottish Power and Police Scotland Fife, all making their first competitive appearance of the season. You would expect one of the former to come out on top, but at the moment genuinely have no idea which one is favourite. Police Scotland Fife, meanwhile, will be looking to do some early damage against two established top six bands to boost their chances of breaking back into the major prize lists, and it will be good to hear in full Dougie Murrays new medley weve already heard in snippets courtesy of Pipe Band TV. As you would hope for every contest, may the best band on the day win!
