The campaign train of the Labour Party yesterday reached out to thousands of Ekiti people at Oye and Ikole Ekiti Local government areas. The reception was grandiose as usual and the crowd tumultuous, leaving everyone without a doubt that Ekiti people genuinely love and want Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as their next Governor. The campaign train which started last week at the Ido/Osi local government gathered over ten thousand people from Ido-Ekiti and neighbouring towns who came to witness the delivery of the popular Change Speech by Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele. As we count down to the much awaited June 21 election day, supporters of MOB are swelling across the state as a result of these rallies and the ongoing consultations by members of the party locally and nationally. The dearth of substance and stability in other political parties in the state has equally left the people of Ekiti with much to desire in MOB. At Oye and Ikole-Ekiti, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele promised Ekiti people that mechanized farming will be a focal point of his administration. This according to him, will enable farmers to be empowered to tap into larger markets and in turn increase their income. Issues concerning youths who are the future of the state will be priority in the MOB administration. Local Government election which the outgoing government has denied the people for three and a half years will be conducted within the first six months of his assumption of office as Governor so that genuine development can get to the everyone can get to the grassroots.
