The capability they (Military Working Dogs) bring to the fight cannot be replicated by man or machine. By all measures of performance their yield outperforms any asset we have in our inventory. Our Army (and military) would be remiss if we failed to invest more in this incredibly valuable resource. General David H. Petraeus Like Human soldiers, we ask the four legged soldier to sometimes do the unthinkable….no questions ask, no retreat, and no turning back. We ask a lot of these warriors that we ourselves would never accomplish in a day or in our life time. Unlike human soldiers they do not know the dire consequences. Alan is a retired military dog who served 8 years in Afghanistan. He had over 260 lives saved. He is 13 years old and like any other soldier that has seen combat it has been a hard transition for him to make. When voices were saying he needed to be put down two individuals took it upon themselves to see beyond the rage in his heart and give him a home where the demons of war could be healed with love & perseverance.
