Combine its lightweight construction, race-derived V10 and ‘brutal’ clutch, and you have a car that makes you feel like you’re “on a knife’s edge“. Rodas, who also sadly lost his life in the incident, was no amateur behind the wheel. The 38-year-old was an experienced racer, but even in The Stig’s hands the Carrera proved difficult to tame. After many attempts to complete a lap without spinning, Stig put in a time of 1:19.8 – a lap record at the time.
