The cedi is responding to treatment the communicators say. The common Ghanaian cared less for how much it takes to transact foreign business. How much we have as foreign reserves, Gross Domestic Product, bla bla bla! Do we care what donations we receive? No! I can bet my life that, about 80% of the Polulation, even more, are yet to own 1 dollar. Some have not even seen the dollar bill before. Why would the dollar be a concern to a commoner? The cedi was 1 to 1 dollar in this country before. It means that, 10, 000ghc is equal to 10,000 dollars! That was the inheritance from Kuffour. For this, l salute him! Now, The cedi has a mind of its own! is what you hear! It is trading $1-2.9ghc and we want to be appreciated! For this small difference, it has affected utility by unprecedented means! It means anything sold in Ghana is affected! From clothings, food, medicine, services just name it! Now, the joy in town is, the dollar is depreciating against the cedi. My ears are inclined as a mouse on top of a flour at 12pm exactly, waiting to hear when tomatoes, fish, onion, gari, transport fares, utility bills rent, will be reduced! Mark my words, even if the cedi comes to 1 dollar, the rents wont go down! Transport fares remains the same! See what politicians failed to educate us? Am yet to see the govt giving everybody commont MTN or Vodafone credit, from the reserves!
