The chili is good but it needs an attitude adjustment. I am entering black bean vegetarian chili in the student affairs chili cook off on 10.13 (yes same day as the Etiquette Dinner) and I added nopales, manjo, butternut squash, and yams,....along with a variety of peppers. I have a beer base and I have lime. I have the heat and the sweet; I have the hops and the twang....but I am missing a binder....what to do, what to do? Maybe I will just let the flavors deal with each other overnight and then reevaluate. If you have any ideas scholars, Id be glad to here them. (A modified Aztec chili recipe).
