The choice wasn’t easy. After 5200km, the first time in this expedition, I put my bike on a bus. During my journey it happened many times that a car or a truck driver offered me a lift for free; but to preserve the purity of the expedition, I always declined the offer, even in the most crucial situations. This time I had no choice. The only thought which gives me comfort is that even with the 400km bus ride I am not nearer to Tadzhikistan – the distance remains the same, just further south, but still in Uzbekistan.
