The chronicles of Charlie, aka life in tri-pod nation, part 3. Apparently time does fly! Charlie completed week 2 of radiation today. He is doing well, his appetite is great. He had lost weight prior to the start of radiation and was down to 47 lbs. he is back up to just under 50. The anesthesia is working very well also as he is awake and active quickly every day. He will stay overnite tonite and come home tomorrow, back to UW on Thursday and then home for the weekend. We expect the side effects to start sometime next week - diarrhea and skin irritation. But....by the end of next week he will only have 2 treatments left! As for other issues, Chuck has adjusted his gait and body mechanics and is dealing with some muscle cramping and loss of muscle mass on the amputation side. He is working on it and figuring it out. Til next week, we keep pushing on.
