The church needs to change some of their doctrines. People are born to procreate, and the the celibacy vow is nonsense, and makes their pro-life stance and the condemnation of gays one of hypocrisy. The church made this rule due to reasons of greed in the ancient times. Then, only people born of the aristocracy could become clergy. This decision ensured that they would not leave any legitimate heirs to inherit property or wealth. All women entering the religious life as nuns take a vow of poverty. Then like now women in the sisterhood are not allowed to inherit property. If something is left to them, it immediately becomes church property. Discrimination exists here however, because Catholic priests on the other hand, are allowed to inherit and own anything they want. They are also allowed to will their private property and money to anyone they want. The church just hasnt gotten around to taking that blue law off the books. Also, Catholic priests do not take a vow of poverty. They never have since the beginning. Only the women.
