The city has scheduled a special joint of the City Council and Board of Finance for 6 p.m. Tuesday to consider a proposed deal with Covanta to create a single stream recycling transfer station on Lake Avenue. The proposal would create a new steel frame building that would allow collection trucks from Bristol and other municipalities that use the Covanta incinerator to bring in single stream recycling materials and have the recyclables transferred to haulers that can take it to sorting facilities. The meeting will be held in the council chambers on the first floor of City Hall.
