The city of Atlantis: Real or a Myth? I have been drawn to a stone called Larimar. I am in the process of acquiring a pendant since this stone is a Mohs Hardness of 5 thus making it risky as a ring setting. I have researched this stone to ascertain why it is special and why it is expensive. It is said that the natives of Atlantis stored information in this particular stone. There have been many articles about people dreaming about being in the mystical city of Atlantis. It is expensive because it is only mined from once source Dominican Republic It is a beautiful stone but it is on par with the pricing of Tanzinite and some Opals.
