The clash between busking freedoms and the law is ongoing whilst the Keep Streets Live Campaign exists to protect access to public space for informal performances of art and music. Some of you will remember the media firestorm recently when Bath Abbey cancelled an evensong performance because of what they said was the noise of buskers outside and then the council said they had plans to introduce strict busking controls as a response. This is a recording of a debate I participated in recently about the clash between liberty and noise pollution with the Rector of Bath Abbey, the Cabinet Member for neighbourhoods in Bath, the Deputy Mayor of London and a professional cellist.
