The commission, example and command of Jesus Christ are interrelated. Just as He is the living Word of God, example of the church, and fulfiller of the law, so we are called to be a living sacrifice unto God after the blessed example of the Son fulfilling the law through the works of faith performed through the indwelling Holy Spirit. (In case you missed it) The price for your forgiveness is to forgive others (knowing the consolations of God to overwhelm whatsoever justice you might deem theirs to repay you...not to mention that you owe God for your sins more than you could afford to pay besides). The price for salvation is telling, in Word and in deed (for this too is the example of Christ...not just "in word and in tongue...but in deed and in truth"), the manner of salvation available only through God. You yourself are the testimony of it. Bearing the resurrection of Christ; for by your sins you should be dead, nevertheless, by the grace of God you are as though redeemed from death. The way in which to bask in the favor of the love of God is to SHED it abroad, through the sacrifice of yourself, knowing this to be the will of God (not only your salvation and joy but that of the entire world..."The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.")....So that as the prophets and righteous before us, though we be dead in our sins, through the resurrection of Jesus, it as though, we "being dead yet speaketh," as though the very dust of the ground praised the glory of God (Hebrews 11, Psalm 30)!
