The company some call Colorados Solyndra, Abound Solar, is in the news again, with the release of an internal Depertment of Energy report indicating that Washington extended a $400 million loan to the company -- $70 million of which eventually was lost -- despite numerous warnings and red flags. Could the companys connections to prominent Democrat funders, like Colorados Pat Stryker, and strong support from Sens. Michael Bennet and Mark Udall, have led department insiders to ignore the warnings and given the high-risk loan anyway? The report doesnt say that, but its a reasonable conclusion to draw from the circumstances.
