The conflict in Syria is not good guys vs. bad. The rebels have hundreds of factions--some good, at least 50% extreme radicals, some of which are far more blood thirsty than Assad himself. There is NO WAY to fight the good fight here. There is no win for the U.S. anywhere in this region. Any military action on our part will only exasperate the situation and increase anti-American feelings. Not even the wisdom of Solomon himself could figure out an ending that would bring peace and security to the poor souls who call the land home.
