The conservatives adhere to the past. The moderates adhere to the present. The progressives adhere to the future. There are more conservatives than moderates or progressives. This has to due with the fact that most people hate "change" and want to hold on to whatever traditions they have because "change" is uncomfortable and will resist any notion of such a blasphemous concept. These people prefer the comfort of walls built around them since the walls keep unfamiliarity out . The second most of the three types are moderates. They adapt to the spirit of the times when it is necessary. They do not initially like change, but will not resist when change happens. These people can appreciate chameleons, since they can change colors and adapt to every situation without actually ever changing themselves. Then finally, there are the progressives. The radical visionaries who are few and far between. They welcome consistent change and frequently encourage upsetting the "established order" to the chagrin of conservatives and moderates. These people appreciate rivers, because a river never stays in one place and keeps facilitating evolution and constant flow.. And there is my philosophy about the "three types".
