The constraints of the national conference : The talk of preserving ‘unity’ by president Jonathan, is so irritating, and insincere that we fear the conference outcome is already written. This is especially as we do not know how the delegates were chosen and if majority of them have been ‘settled’. Ask Mugabe, and he will tell you that even he is better than Nigerians. What if the Boko Haram representatives of Borno kingdom axis ethnic nation want out of Nigeria? Since the president has said opting out should not be discussed, is he asking them to keep committing mass murder, where-as they have the same rights as Scotland and Crimea to exercise their UN right to self determination without interference from anyone. Why is the conference not about peaceful exit for those who wish to, coupled with a UN security Council guarantee for the sharing of the proceeds from oil and other mineral resources for the next 200 years. Would that not have been the smart brief to the conference? Why must the ancient kingdom of Borno be ruled by a man from 800 miles away, and vice versa if not for the expressed fear of loss of oil money to the king of Borno? Is that enough for us to remain yoked as is, and our people continue die in the hands of those for whom killing is perhaps a way of life?
