The coolest story ever!!! A couple months ago, my sweet friend Bridget, told me they were praying about hosting an orphan in their home. This concept was so foreign to me. Id never heard of it. Have an orphan in your home for several weeks and then send them home? What was the benefit for them? I started researching more and listening to Bridget explain and my heart was so burdened for these orphans. You see, these orphans, may never know anything outside the walls of this orphanage. At about age 16, they must leave. No family, no home, no money. Just the streets. Homelessness. Over %15 will commit suicide that first year. Many girls will turn to prostitution. Its a very sad and hopeless situation. But organizations like Project 143 and World Children Hosting are working to make a difference through orphan hosting. For 3 or 4 weeks in winter and summer some of these kids will get to experience life outside an orphanage in a loving family. A seed of hope is planted. The kids are longing to come here! As a result, awareness is raised and many of these least likely to be adopted kids get a forever home. If not, their eyes have been opened to hope. The before and after pictures of children who have been hosted are amazing! So I began to pray! And when His people pray many amazing things begin to happen.
