The coolest thing just happened to me, so I had to share. Monkey - TopicsExpress

The coolest thing just happened to me, so I had to share. Monkey #2 has a ritualistic routine that he HAS to go through before hell let me leave him at school. This morning we met his aide in the hall and proceeded to go through each step: Cam: Whats today? Sue: Music and Media Cam: What time? Sue: 9 oclock Cam: Whats for lunch? Me: You brought your lunchbox. Sue: Time to say goodbye to Mom. *Hug* *Kiss* *Eskimo Kiss* Cam: Ugga Mugga, Mama. Me: Ugga Mugga, Super Cam. Today, I noticed a mom watching our exchange closely. Im used to people watching Cameron; he draws people in all the time. I expected her eyes to follow Cam down the hall, but they settled on me. Im socially awkward, so I immediately panicked. Do I smile? Do I wave? Thank goodness, she smiled first and started talking to me. She: I love your sons hair. Me: Thank you. She: Youre going to think Im crazy, but I read this book over the weekend and you just reminded me of something in it. Me: *shocked* Really? What book? She: Lily Love, its by a local author and she dedicated it to her sons. She says Ugga Mugga in her dedication, just like you did with your son. Me: *trying not to blush* Wow. Thats so cool. She: Yeah, I thought so to. Shes the real deal, too. She tells it like it is and isnt afraid to dig in the dirt about motherhood. Me: *trying not to squirm* I guess I should check it out. She: Totally! Im Sarah, by the way. Me: Im Maggi, its nice to meet you. She: Maggi? Me: Yep. She: Maggi Myers? Me: Thats me. She: Well, I feel like an idiot. Me: Now way! That made my day. She: I really did love your book. Me: Im honored.
