The county sheriffs election is crawling closer and closer, and am glad to see that todays social media involved all three of the candidates views. I truly believe this race is much closer than some believe, and I applaud all three of the men putting fourth and trying to implement their beliefs. Also I applaud the work the current sheriff has done. I do believe his intentions increased our revenue which is a great thing! But I do agree with the fact that the safety of our deputies is in danger with the minimal deputies on duty at a time. We are in need of more deputies on the road to insure some more help and back up for the men that scarifies for our county. I have been thinking hard and doing as much possible to insure my decision, and that time has come. I believe 100 percent that Chief Joe Drought is the best candidate for the Ogle County Sheriffs office, and his beliefs are strong, and his track record proves them. For once in politics I have no doubt in my mind he is the right fit. He has 30 plus years of experience, and has spent the last 17 years as a chief directing a small force of men to protect the students of RVC , and was a formal Ogle County Sheriff k-9 unit officer. This is the right man for the job, he isnt a what if he is an I have done! Stand up for what is right!! Experience, leadership, and the correct drive.
