The current CEO of the TOPH (Mal Osborne) may not have been in - TopicsExpress

The current CEO of the TOPH (Mal Osborne) may not have been in control of the TOPH for all that long, but he is making one of the biggest mistakes any CEO of the town will ever make. By taking the Gratwick Hall from the community to feed the short term office needs of the administration he controls, he is going to decimate an iconic hall that has served the Hedland community for decades. It is morally and ethically wrong to think that the redevelopment of the Civic Centre does not also require the preservation of the Gratwick Hall in its present form. At the recent November council meeting, alternatives to the TOPHs temporary office space shortage should have been demanded by all of the council members immediately when the motion was changed to permanent acquisition of the hall by the CEO. All but one were led merrily down the garden path by the CEO to vote for this sudden change to the wording from temporary to permanent acquisition. The vote by seven of the council members has resulted in the permanent loss of the Gratwick Hall to the Hedland community. Once the present Gratwick Hall is gone, it will be gone forever and I can already hear the next CEO preparing in his defence that, It was not my mistake! This mistake need not happen though!!!!!! TOPH Councillors, please revoke your decision to permanently close the Gratwick Hall.
