The current Certificate of Entitlement (COE) categorisation should be changed, with car dealers excluded from participating in the bidding exercises, according to participants at a dialogue session yesterday (July 6). They also wanted COE bidders to pay as they bid. This means a person who places a bid of S$100,000, for example, would have to pay that amount instead of just the Current COE Price — the premium all successful bidders currently pay, which is the price of the current lowest successful bid for the quota available plus S$1.
